Walk to Southern Cross Comfortable Bed Friendly Reception Room Upgrade Soundproofing Free Tram Zone

“The location is excellent—only a 8-10-minute walk from Southern Cross Station, making it incredibly convenient if you’re taking the SkyBus. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very welcoming and even upgraded us to a room with a stunning view, where we could see the beautiful Christmas decorations on the bridge across the river. The room was spacious, clean, and well-lit. I loved that the living area had a dining table and sofa, and you could open the windows for fresh air. The kitchen was fully equipped with a microwave, wine glasses, and a dishwasher (which was a bit finicky but still worked); we even cooked dinner there. The bedroom is a separate space divided by glass, featuring a very comfortable bed and a wardrobe. A huge plus was the in-room washer and dryer (laundry detergent provided!). The bathroom had a handheld showerhead, and the toiletries smelled amazing. It’s a lovely walk from the hotel to the other side of the river to see the festive lights. There’s paid parking right outside the entrance, and the nearest supermarket is the Woolworths at Southern Cross Station. Overall, a very comfortable and bright hotel—highly recommended!”

“I stayed one night at Melbourne Canvas Hotel after a concert at Marvel Stadium and was really impressed. The location is perfect — an easy walk to Marvel Stadium, Southern Cross Station, and plenty of great breakfast spots just around the corner. It’s also right next to the Yarra, which made for a beautiful morning walk. The room was clean and modern, and the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. Note: You can see into the bedroom from the kitchen as the wall is glass. A fantastic stay in a super convenient location. I’d definitely return!”

“All is good about this apart-hotel, except one thing. Read on... The room we had was sparkling clean, all appliances functioned perfectly (including the TV and Wi-Fi), the kitchen was well appointed, the staff was very competent and helpful with various questions and requests. The location is great for walking within minutes to the Melbourne Convention Center, Crown Casino, Melbourne Aquarium and Southern Cross Station (located on Spencer Street) which is the main hub for regional/interstate trains, airport transfers, and long-distance coaches. The stop for the free trams (street cars) in the CBD area are right in front of the hotel. The exception is the noise. The building is very close to a bridge used by suburban trains and the noise of trains crossing the bridge gets all the way to the 15th floor. The windows reduce the noise a bit, but not enough to call it a quiet room. But the noise stops between midnight and 5AM, when there is no train traffic. If a bit of street and train traffic noise does not bother you, then The Canvas Apartment Hotel is a great choice for Melbourne CBD.”
